How to Choose a Reference Photo
Give your photo prompt a clearer starting point: visible faces, useful light and the right number of people.
Choose detail over effects
Start with a sharp photo where the face is easy to see. Strong filters, motion blur and heavy shadows can hide the features you want to keep.
- Face: keep the eyes, nose and mouth visible. Avoid a hand or object covering them.
- Light: choose even light with detail on the face. A dark silhouette gives the tool less to work with.
- Framing: keep the full head visible and use a reference close to the pose you want.
- People: follow the look page’s requirements. A couple prompt may expect one photo showing both people clearly.
For a photo of two people
Choose an image where both faces are sharp and separate. Avoid references where one person is distant, hidden or much darker than the other.
The prompt describes each person separately. Keep those instructions so the tool has a clearer way to refer to the two identities.
If the first result changes the face
Try a clearer reference, reduce the number of styling changes and ask the tool to preserve facial structure. Inspect both faces in a couple photo, rather than judging only the scene.
Use photos you are allowed to edit
Choose your own photo or one you have permission to use. Consider the people in it before uploading to an external service or sharing a result.
